Philippines
In Davao City, the SUCCESS Alliance held the first cocoa post-harvest best-practices clinic from January 28-29, 2009. This clinic brought together 50 cocoa farmers, traders, processors, technicians and other stakeholders to share best practices and to recognize participants producing high-quality cocoa. The region of Davao has also benefited from the market linkage of at least 180 SUCCESS farmers' cocoa with Askinosie Chocolate, a U.S.-based company that purchased cocoa for the production of its organic, single-origin premium chocolate bars.

Ecuador
From 2008–09, 70 new farmer associations were formed, 65 of them have legal status and 5 are working on it. These are young organizations that need technical assistance and guidance for at least two more years.
Pedro Gomez, Association Training Assistant, trained 15 farmers in the “Asociacion 11 de Marzo” on basic accounting in Montalvo, southern Los Rios province, in order to strengthen their business practices.
Liberia
Crop diversification facilitators held 25 community meetings and provided technical assistance to 271 cocoa farmers in the rehabilitation of their farms including under brushing of 55 acres of cocoa and pruning and reduction of shade trees on 3 acres.
SUCCESS Alliance also distributed agroprocessing equipment donated by FAO to farmers’ associations.

Vietnam
Technicians from ACDI/VOCA and DARD/Lam Dong conducted site selection in the three districts in the south of Lam Dong province. The districts selected were Da Huoai, Da Teh and Cat Tien. Throughout 8 communes, 21 villages were selected as suitable for cocoa development.
